Alphabet Needs To Learn From Apple

Alphabet needs to learn from Apple before entering the smartphone market.

Alphabet Inc. is the uncrowned king of the operating system industry, since its Android has almost 60% market share followed by Apple. The company has provided its operating system to various smartphone manufacturers, which has become a reason behind their popularity. However, it has so far failed to capitalize on the hardware market since they do not manufacture smartphones on their own.

The reason why Apple, is doing so well in the industry is actually very simple. It invests equal time and energy in its hardware and software domain so that both segments flourish equally. On the other hand, the search engine giant is merely focused towards Android and they have not entered the smartphone manufacturing business as of yet. It has been now reported that it is now considering the possibilities and might just come up with a smartphone on its own.

This is a brave decision by the company, which will help them in pushing Google Android. Earlier, it collaborated with other tech giants, such as Samsung, HTC, Motorola, LG, Huawei, to come up with the Nexus series that became extremely popular amongst the masses. However, it always looked up to other companies for this service but never thought to do something of this nature on its own.

However, the game might just change for Alphabet now, since they have plans to manufacture smartphones on its own. The idea is simply great but there are certain things that bother various analysts. Firstly, Google has not been able to do much good to Android. Apple on the other hand is constantly modifying features and recently came up with 3D Touch, but Google remains to be conventional with its approach and is not improvising to intrigue its audience. The Android platform is loaded with third party apps and bloatware that are actually making the image of the software as low class.

Various minor issues with Android are gradually rupturing its image as a top-class operating system. If this continues to be this way, then soon people might just witness the sad demise of Android.

At this point of time, Alphabet really needs to come up with a top-notch smartphone with improvised version of Android so that it can remain as the king of the industry. It is advised that it should look up to Apple and follow the trends when it comes to investing equal time in hardware and software to succeed.
